Frequently asked questions
Which day trip should I choose from Marrakech?
Ourika valley (35 km, 1 h) for mountains and water; Agafay (30 km, 45 min) for stone desert at sunset; Imlil (65 km, 1 h 30) to walk beneath Toubkal; Essaouira (175 km, 2 h 30) for the Atlantic; Ouarzazate (200 km, 4 h) for Aït Benhaddou.
Are your tours private or shared?
Private. The vehicle and driver are yours alone and the schedule bends to you rather than to a group.
Is lunch included?
No. The vehicle, driver and fuel are included; meals, entrance fees and local guides are not, which leaves you free to choose.
How much do the tours cost?
€45 for Ourika, €50 for Agafay, €60 for Imlil, €90 for Essaouira, €95 for Ouarzazate and Aït Benhaddou, €280 per person for the 3-day Sahara. All per vehicle except the Sahara trip.
Can I do the Sahara in a day trip?
No. Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes are 560 km away and need three days. Anyone offering the Sahara as a day trip means Agafay, 30 km from Marrakech.
Can we change the itinerary during the day?
Yes, within reason. That is the advantage of a private tour - if you want longer somewhere or an extra stop, tell the driver.
Does the driver wait?
Yes, on every day trip. There is no fixed return time and no waiting charge.
Which tour is best with children?
Ourika and Agafay. Both are short drives, and Agafay's camel rides work well for younger children. Imlil is fine if you keep to the lower paths.
Can we combine two places in one day?
Ourika in the morning and Agafay for sunset is the pairing that works best - green and water, then desert and sunset, both close to the city.
Do you provide a guide?
Our drivers know the routes and speak English, French, Spanish and Arabic, but they are drivers, not licensed guides. Local guides are easy to hire at each site.
