💶 How much a taxi from the airport really costs (2026 rates) →
Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) sits about 6 km southwest of Jemaa el-Fna — a 15 to 20 minute drive in normal traffic. You have four realistic ways to cover it: the official taxi rank, the ALSA line 19 bus, a ride-hailing app, or a pre-booked private transfer. This guide gives you the real cost of each, what can go wrong, and how to reach a riad that no car can actually drive to.
Written by the Taxi Maroc Aéroport drivers in Marrakech. Prices below were reviewed in July 2026.
In one line: the ALSA line 19 bus costs 30 MAD per person, an official petit taxi is the cheapest door-to-door option but the fare varies with your destination and the time of day, and a pre-booked private transfer with us is €15 per vehicle for up to 3 passengers — fixed at the moment you book, with no deposit.
| Option | Price | Time | Capacity | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ALSA bus, line 19 | 30 MAD per person | 25–45 min | Limited luggage | Solo travellers, light bags, daytime |
| Official petit taxi | Varies by time and destination | 15–20 min | Max 3 passengers | Confident travellers, no rush |
| Grand taxi | Varies by time and destination | 15–20 min | Up to 6 passengers | Small groups |
| Ride-hailing app | Varies | 15–20 min | 3–4 passengers | Late night, if you have mobile data |
| Private transfer (us) | €15 per vehicle | 15–20 min | 1–15 across our fleet | Families, riads, late arrivals, first visit |
Search this question and you will find five different answers. That is not because anyone is lying — the fare genuinely depends on the time of day, exactly where in the city you are going, whether the meter is used, and whether you agreed a price before getting in. Published figures for the airport-to-medina run range from roughly 70 to 150 MAD by day, and a legitimate night tariff applies after 22:00.
Here is what does not change, whichever option you pick: agree the fare before the car moves. A petit taxi carries a maximum of three passengers by law, so a family of four cannot legally travel in one. A grand taxi takes up to six. And the night surcharge is not a tourist scam — it is the official rate.
This is the entire reason our prices are per vehicle and fixed at booking: there is nothing to negotiate at 01:00 with your luggage on the pavement.
If you are staying in a riad inside the medina, no car can reach your door. The alleys are too narrow for a vehicle. Every driver — taxi or private transfer — stops at the nearest gate, and you walk the rest of the way with your luggage.
The difference is what happens next. At the taxi rank you are on your own from the gate onwards, often at night, in a street plan that defeats most map apps. When you book with us, tell us the riad name: we work out which gate is actually closest, drive you there, and where the riad sends a porter we wait until you have been met.

Line 19 is operated by ALSA and connects the airport with the city centre near Jemaa el-Fna for 30 MAD, running roughly every 20 to 30 minutes from early morning until late evening. It is by far the cheapest option and it is perfectly safe. Buy your ticket from the driver or at the airport counter.
It is the wrong choice if you are arriving after the last departure, if you have more than a cabin bag each, if you are travelling with small children, or if you are staying somewhere the route does not pass. Luggage space on board is limited, and the stop is not your front door.
The last bus goes, the rank thins out, and negotiating a fare at 01:00 after a four-hour flight is nobody's idea of a good arrival. This is the strongest single case for booking ahead: your driver tracks the flight, waits in arrivals with your name on a sign, and the price was agreed before you took off.
We operate 24 hours a day, every day, and we do not add a night surcharge. If your flight is delayed, the pick-up time moves automatically at no extra cost.
Bring your own car seat or ask us for one when you book — there is no extra charge and we fit it before you arrive. Airport petit taxis do not carry child seats, and with a three-passenger legal limit a family of four cannot use one anyway. Our SUVs, vans and minibuses seat 5, 7 and 15.
You can see every route and its fixed price on our transfers page, or read the Marrakech Menara (RAK) airport guide for terminal-level detail on arrivals, ATMs and where we wait.

It is not required, but it is strongly advised between October and April, and for any arrival after 22:00.
