Marrakech → Agadir

€130 per vehicle

Route details checked in July 2026 by Ahlam Giyat, travel editor at Taxi Maroc Aéroport.

A private car from Marrakech to Agadir costs €130 per vehicle, not per person, and takes about 3 hours to cover the 250 km on the A7 motorway. There is no train to Agadir — Morocco's rail network stops at Marrakech — so this trip is a choice between the coach, a shared taxi and a private car. Below is the honest comparison, including what the cheap options actually cost once you add the taxis at each end.

What the road is actually like

You leave Marrakech westward, pass Chichaoua, then join the A7 motorway south through argan country to Agadir. The road is modern and in good condition the whole way, and the tolls come to roughly 80–120 MAD, already included in the price we quote.

Driving time is about 3 hours without stops. There is a second, far more beautiful route over the Tizi n'Test pass — around 285 km of mountain road. It roughly doubles the journey time and it is spectacular. Ask us if you want it; we do not charge more for the scenery, only for the extra hours.

Bus, shared taxi or private car

CTM and Supratours both run this corridor roughly every two hours, and they are good. Here is the comparison with nothing hidden.

The part the bus comparison usually leaves out

A coach ticket is genuinely cheap — around 80–110 MAD with CTM or Supratours, less with the smaller operators. But the ticket is not the journey. You still need a taxi to the Marrakech bus station, and another from Agadir's station to your hotel, and those two taxis typically add €10–18.

So a €9 bus ticket is closer to €20–25 door to door for one person, and around €35 for two. At three or four passengers the private car is simply cheaper, and it takes you from your riad door to your hotel door without the two taxi negotiations in between.

Why people make this trip

Agadir is Morocco's beach capital: a long Atlantic bay, reliable sunshine well outside the European summer, and the surf towns of Taghazout and Tamraght just north. A great many visitors do Marrakech first for the medina and the souks, then move to the coast for the second half of the holiday.

It also works the other way. If you fly into Agadir on a charter and want to see Marrakech, the same road runs in reverse and we drive it just as often.

What is included

  • Fixed price per vehicle — the same for one passenger or five in an SUV
  • All motorway tolls and fuel
  • Door to door: your riad or hotel in Marrakech to your address in Agadir
  • Free stop on request, usually the argan cooperative or a viewpoint
  • Drivers who speak English, French, Spanish and Arabic
  • Free child seats, fitted before pick-up
  • No deposit, free cancellation up to 24 hours before
  • Pay the driver in cash (EUR, USD, GBP or MAD) or by card

Taghazout, Tamraght and the surf coast

Most people who say "Agadir" actually mean the beach, and for surfers that usually means Taghazout, about 20 km further north, or Tamraght just before it. We drive there for the same fixed price — tell us the exact address when you book so the driver takes the coast road rather than the city exit.

Travelling on afterwards? We also drive Marrakech to Essaouira along the coast, and the full route and price list covers everywhere else we go.
