How far is Fes from Marrakech?

About 530 km, roughly 7 to 8 hours by road. It is the longest journey we run apart from Tangier and Chefchaouen.

How much is a transfer to Fes?

€260 per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, fuel and stops are included.

Is there a direct train from Marrakech to Fes?

There is a through service, but it takes around 7 hours and usually involves a change at Casablanca. For one or two people it is far cheaper than a car and worth taking.

How much is the train to Fes?

Roughly 200 to 400 MAD depending on class and date. Add the taxis at each end and it is still a fraction of a private car for one or two people.

Should I take the train or a car to Fes?

The train for one or two people with time. The car from three passengers, with luggage, or if you want to stop at Ifrane or Beni Mellal rather than sit for seven hours.

Can we stop on the way to Fes?

Yes, two stops are included. Beni Mellal is the natural halfway point, and Ifrane - often called Morocco's Switzerland for its alpine architecture - is a common detour.

What is the route like?

North-east through Beni Mellal and Khenifra, mostly on good road with a long middle section through the Middle Atlas. It is scenic but it is a full day.

Can we go via the Atlas or Ifrane?

Yes, the Ifrane route adds roughly an hour but takes you through cedar forest and past the Barbary macaques at Azrou. Tell us at booking.

Is it better to fly to Fes?

There are no direct flights from Marrakech to Fes worth the connection time. Road or rail are the realistic options.

Can we do Fes as a day trip?

No. Seven to eight hours each way makes that fifteen hours of driving. Fes needs at least two nights.

Can you continue from Fes to Chefchaouen?

Yes, Chefchaouen is about 4 hours north of Fes. Many passengers do Marrakech–Fes–Chefchaouen rather than returning.

How many passengers can you take?
