Below is everything you need for a smooth arrival: how to reach your riad, live conditions, terminal facilities and honest local tips.

Getting to the city

The fastest, stress-free option is a fixed-price private transfer that meets you inside arrivals with a name sign — no queue, no haggling. A shared grand taxi and the public bus 19 (to Jemaa el-Fna) are cheaper but slower and less comfortable with luggage. There is no Uber or Bolt at Marrakech airport.

Local arrival tips

  • Book your transfer in advance so a driver waits with your name — you skip the taxi queue.
  • Ignore anyone shouting “taxi?” before the exit; agree a price only with an official rank or your booked driver.

  • Riads deep inside the Medina end at a car barrier — your driver will walk you the last few metres.
